Von Februar bis Juli 2020 wird €urOPER viele kleine Akte in verschiedenen professionell geleiteten Workshops entwickeln, welche medial begleitet eine komplexe Geschichte erzählen und ein europäisches Jetztzeit Szenario in Form einer künstlerischen Oper visualisieren. Freuen darf man sich zudem schon auf die Gesamtaufführung der €uroper im August 2020, sowie ein gebündeltes Print und Online Format des Projektes. Der Performance Workshop im März mit der Tänzerin, Schriftstellerin und Aktivistin Valerie Ebuwa aus London, lädt dazu ein einen kleinen Akt zu kreieren, der sozialen und politischen Systemen gewidmet ist. Mit dem eigenen Körper wollen wir die Grenzen von Zugehörigkeit und Zuschreibung choreografisch zu analysieren. Neben Improvisationstechniken stehen, self empowerment, Zusammenhänge kultureller und körperlicher Grenzen und die physische Erforschung von Raum mit auf dem Programm. Der Workshop findet in englischer Sprache statt!

Valerie Ebuwa ist freischaffende Tänzerin, Aktivistin und Schriftstellerin mit Sitz in Ost-London. 2014 schloss sie ihr Studium an der London Contemporary Dance School ab. Sie arbeitete u.a. mit dem Vincent Dance Theatre, Clod Ensemble, Eddie Peake, Protein Dance und Holly Blakey. Als Tänzerin hat sie zudem auch eigene Choreographien und Stücke entwickelt, wie Body Data, CTRL+V, ValUE und Down Bad / How do you wanna go out?. Als Mentorin für das Programm “Womxn” arbeitet Sie derzeitig mit farbigen, weiblichen Studentinnen an der London Contemporary Dance School und Wac Arts und schreibt gelegentlich für das “I Am Hip-Hop” Magazin. www.valerieebuwa.com

From February to July 2020, €uroper will develop many small acts in the form of various professionally guided workshops, telling a complex story accompanied by media. The vision is a European contemporary scenario in the form of an artistic opera. We look forward to the complete performance of €uroper in August 2020 as well as a bundled print and online format of the project. Dancer, writer and activist Valerie Ebuwa from London will be facilitating March’s Performance Workshop, inviting you to create a small act dedicated to social and political systems. Using your own body, you are offered the chance to choreographically analyse the boundaries of belonging and attribution. Besides improvisation techniques and self-empowerment, the programme includes the interrelationship of cultural and physical boundaries as a the physical exploration of space.
Valerie Ebuwa is a freelance dance artist, activist and writer based in East London. She graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2014. Amongst others she’s recently worked with; Vincent Dance Theatre, Clod Ensemble, Eddie Peake, Protein Dance, Holly Blakey. As a maker, she has choreographed Body Data, CTRL+V, ValUE and Down Bad/ How do you wanna go out?.She is currently running a mentoring programme called Womxn for female identifying students of colour at London Contemporary Dance School and Wac Arts.
